The Baby Did Great Too Though

August 21, 2017

Yesterday my son took his first plane trip for reasons you might be able to guess, but I’ll likely confirm tomorrow.  I had my concerns about that, but he did great, so there’s no real story there.

Before I knew he was going to do great though, I was probably the only adult on the plane that has happy to see someone bringing a baby on board, and I was definitely the only person that was ecstatic when the family with the baby sat right behind us, because that meant the odds favored that nobody else was going to notice if my son had a bad time with his first flight.

Please Tell Me I Don’t Have To Clarify This Is Just A Joke

A while back Lala took a plane trip to visit The Lands of Snow.  (Yes, this is an actual place on my personal world map; it’s my private version of “Here there be dragons.”)  After she landed I asked her if she’d had a good flight, and she told me that she had.

“Chatted the last leg with the guy next to me.  He’s a new dad,” she added.

Now I’d certainly heard of the Mile High Club, but this struck me as taking it to unnecessary extremes.

On the other hand, I know as well as the next guy how boring those long flights can be, so maybe I shouldn’t judge.

And This Is Just From My Secondhand Experience Of Someone ELSE’S Trip

October 2, 2014

Reading over my recent entries, particularly the last one, I wanted to clarify a couple of things:

1.  I still have no desire to jump out of an airplane, but if I ended up jumping out anyway, I would definitely pull the ripcord.

2.  The main issue at the moment is, that if I can help it, I don’t want to be on a plane at all right now.

It’s A Dead Certain Method

October 1, 2014

To be fair, having thought about it some more, I can think of another reason to jump out of a functioning airplane:

If you ever need to know for certain if you want to live enough to pull the ripcord . . .

So When Someone Says “Jump,” I Always Ask “Why?”

The only reason I see for jumping out of a functioning airplane is so I know what to do in case I ever have to jump out of a nonfunctioning one.
