So I’m Not Dwelling On It

As I said on Monday, the construction/remodeling work here isn’t quite done yet, but it’s close enough to being done that if I dwell on it, it’s maddening that it’s not done yet.

Per My Son’s Request, A New Category

On those rare occasions when I write about Algiz the Sun Conure, he has his own category:  Coos and Caws.  When I mentioned him the other day, I also mentioned our dog, Isa, thus prompting my son to ask why she doesn’t have her own category as well.

I didn’t have a good answer for that, so Isa now has her own category:  Wags and Growls.

(I looked into trying to continue the C and C alliteration theme, but couldn’t come up with something that wouldn’t have been painfully pretentious.)

Yes, I did notice that yesterday was the eight year anniversary of Candles & Curses.

“Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head” Will Be Bad Enough

While I’m pleased to announce that Tropical Storm Erika is approaching my location, this does open up the possibility that Monday’s entry may end up being delayed, so I wanted to give everyone a heads up on that.

“Why am I ‘pleased’ to announce this?” you might be asking.  Two reasons.

One, it’s been a while since I’ve had to make this kind of announcement, and two, because Erika is not Danny, and that means I’m spared from hearing endless repetitions of “Danny Boy” while waiting out the storm.

A Special Announcement

At this point in time the first “headed our way” storm of this hurricane season, Isaac, is almost upon us.  We’re comfortably settled in to wait it out, but I thought I’d make a quick note here in case we get a power outage that precludes me from updating on schedule tomorrow.
