If She’s Going To Wear It, It Should At Least Look Good On Her

I suspect I have already made abundantly clear my feelings regarding the girls’ love of dressing up the dog, but if you need clarification, suffice it to say that I don’t approve, but I recognize that my approval is not required.  Even so, as I watch the dog prance around (and seemingly happily so, I will reluctantly admit) in a frilly canine “party dress,” I remind myself that it really could be worse.

At least she’s not wearing the dress that makes her look frumpy.

Unless You’re Trying To Blend In At Mardi Gras Or The Like

The other day someone asked me why I tended to favor dark neutral colors in my clothing, and I explained it this way:

“Given my personality, I can easily be noticed if I want to be noticed.  Sometimes it’s not being noticed that’s the trick, and that’s hard to do in bright, garish colors.”

While I can understand perfectly why L’s Mother and Lala enjoy browsing thrift stores for clothes, it’s not a joy I can share in.  I enjoy a good bargain as much as the next person, but judging by the selection in men’s clothing that I’ve seen, guys my size just don’t die.

Just Another Slice Of Life Moment

Since they no longer fit her, Lala has started to redesign some of her old clothes because, as she put it, “I’m sentimental about these shirts, but I have no problems cutting them.”

I hope she never gets sentimental about me!
