As a father, part of my job is telling people it’s not too hot in here and that we absolutely do not need to turn the air down.

The other part of my job is going some place private to sweat.

Today I began to fear that I had moved into “boring Dad” territory after I realized that the highlight of this morning’s family trip to the zoo for me was the bathroom because it was air-conditioned.

Then I overheard a child asking their mother if they had to look at “very many more animals before they could go somewhere cooler,” and the mother, rather than getting angry, just sighed and answered, “No baby.  Not many more now.”
